Patna's Danapur man killed, girlfriend held

• Police recovered the body of a 22-year-old man from his girlfriend's house in Musahri village in rural Patna

• Preliminary investigation suggests that he was murdered in an extra-marital affair

Police recovered the body of a 22-year-old man from his girlfriend's house in Musahri village of Bihta in rural Patna on Monday morning. The deceased was identified as Sunny Kumar alias Roshan, a resident of Doghra village in Danapur.

Police arrested his girlfriend Phulwa Devi (28), a widow, while other members of her family were on the run. According to the police, Roshan was having an affair with the woman for the past two years and was living with Phulwa after his wife left due to an extra-marital affair.

(Divisional Police Officer) Danapur SDPO Abhinav Dhiman told that the police received information about Roshan's death around 8.30 am. “There are marks of struggle on his body, blood on his legs and an uneven ligature on his neck. Preliminary investigation suggests that he was murdered in an extra-marital affair.” FSL team and dog squad also reached the spot,” he said, adding that the deceased was living with Phulwa after his wife left for her paternal house.

“Roshan's wife has registered a complaint against the five named accused, including Phulwa, her two sisters and two others from the same family. Other members of the accused family are absconding. Roshan had an altercation with several of Phulwa's family members” days.

Phulwa claimed that she got married to Roshan about two years ago, but has not been able to provide the document so far. She married thrice and all her husbands died,” he said. The SDPO said blood-stained clothes were recovered from her house, and the report confirmed that they belonged to Roshan.
